Manchester United are considering a stunning €500million offer for Paris Saint-Germain forward Neymar in a potential transfer battle with Real Madrid, according to Le 10 Sport.
The Brazil international only just moved to PSG for what BBC Sport called a world-record fee of £200million this summer, but it could be that he’ll soon be on the move again.
One of the best players in the world, it is little surprise to see more established European powerhouses like United and Madrid rattled by the striker moving to new kids on the block PSG this season.
Neymar stunned world football with his decision to leave Barcelona for the French capital, in what was a major statement signing by the club as they look to establish themselves among Europe’s elite.
It seems highly unlikely that the 25-year-old would move again so soon, but an offer like that would be hard to turn down for any club, even one as wealthy as PSG.
It would undoubtedly be great to see Neymar in the Premier League, but it remains to be seen if the Red Devils actually act on this potential offer, with Le 10 Sport stressing that they’re only considering it at this moment in time.
There also doesn’t appear to be a particular time frame on the transfer, so it may be that United and Real will have to wait a few years before realistically thinking they had a chance of prising the Brazilian away from the Parc des Princes.
