Juventus have been paired with a swoop for Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Adrien Rabiot, who has been heavily linked with a move to Barcelona.
As per The Sun, it has been claimed that the Catalan giants are confident of securing the services of the 23-year-old with his current contract set to expire next summer, thus leading to a cut-price valuation being touted in the report at £20m.
Rabiot would undoubtedly be a fine addition to Ernesto Valverde’s squad, as he possesses great technical quality and creativity to fit into the style of play at the Nou Camp.
However, although they have the benefit of the Spanish transfer window remaining open until August 31, it’s claimed by Calciomercato that Juventus are poised to make a late bid for the French international with the deadline on Friday in Italy.
Further, as per Don Balon, Real Madrid are also ready to push ahead of their rivals to try and tie up a move for the Frenchman. Given they have Luka Modric, Casemiro and Toni Kroos in midfield though, it’s difficult to see that move making sense.
The Bianconeri have had quite the summer already having added the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Leonardo Bonucci and Emre Can to their squad, as so they look well equipped to extend their domestic dominance while also looking to end their wait for glory in Europe.
Adding Rabiot would not only give them an immediate boost and add real quality to the midfield options at Massimiliano Allegri’s disposal, but with his entire career still ahead of him and with plenty of room for improvement and maturity, he could yet develop into a top class midfielder.
Nevertheless, it remains to be seen if a deal is agreed with PSG with any interested party if they are willing to let Rabiot leave this summer, but it will have to happen quickly in Juve’s case with just over 24 hours remaining until the window closes.
