England enjoyed a very comfortable 3-0 win over Scotland at Wembley last night. The World Cup Qualifier was one-sided with Scotland chances few and far between. Gareth Southgate watched his side put three headers past a hapless Scottish backline to collect an easy three points. The defeat could have serious repercussions for Gordon Strachan.
Daniel Sturridge opened the scoring in the first half with a header from point-blank range. The marking was non-existent, a theme that was consistent throughout the game. His Liverpool teammate Adam Lallana also scored with his bonce early in the second half to double England’s advantage.
Then Gary Cahill sealed the points when he nodded in from a Wayne Rooney corner. Raheem Sterling missed a good opportunity to add a fourth when he somehow turned a close-range effort over the bar.
