Chelsea line up whopping €340,000-a-week deal and set big expectations to keep key man

Chelsea ace Eden Hazard is steadily moving into top gear this season, and he could reportedly be offered a big-money contract to commit his future.

The 26-year-old has scored six goals and provided five assists in 16 appearances in all competitions, continuing to establish himself as an integral figure in Antonio Conte’s side.

In turn, it’s no surprise that Chelsea are willing to do what they can to secure his long-term at Stamford Bridge, with Belgian publication HLN, as re-reported by The Express, suggesting that he’s in line for a lucrative new deal.

It’s claimed that he will get a €115,000-a-week salary hike, going from €225,000-a-week to €340,000-a-week, making him the best-paid player in the Premier League.

It comes amid speculation of interest from Real Madrid, as per The Mirror, but with Chelsea confident that they can help the Belgian international win the Champions League and the Ballon d’Or, they’re hoping to provide the all-round package and vision to convince him to stay, according to HLN.

Fresh from winning the Premier League title last season, it’s clear that Chelsea can win major trophies under Antonio Conte, depending on how long the Italian tactician opts to stay himself.

They haven’t entirely convinced in Europe this year though, albeit they moved to the top of Group C on Wednesday with their win over Qarabag, securing their place in the knockout stage.

However, a draw at home with Roma before defeat at the Stadio Olimpico exposed some weaknesses, but they’ll hope to get stronger as the tournament goes on.

In turn, while question marks could be raised over their ability to challenge for the Champions League this season, with Hazard leading the way for them in future years with a reinforced squad, they could certainly fulfil their ambitions moving forward and give the Belgian ace more than enough reason to stay with them.
